An amazing gathering today in Amsterdam for the traditional Canal Parade during the Gay Pride Amsterdam. 100.000's of people come to see this blazing event, that can best be described as a Pink Queensday. The full set is here.

Exploring the camping and and the life on it, sad thoughts came back to Frank de Jonge, CEO of IDTV who passed away earlier this week. One of the programmes he was very proud of as a cross media story telling, was camping life.

Roderick has created his first set of "spas marins" or actually 'Space Marines' a group of figurines from Warhammer. He saw them at Minne earlier in the week and now he's creating them himself.

In Amsterdam the weather was great and all the activities created a crowded lolapaloza full of fun. This year the city authorities have provided enormous quantities of toilets. I have never seen so many in my live... The full set is here. Unfortunately the great atmosphere of Queensday was overshadowed by the terrible things in Apeldoorn.

The analog/digital/online worlds come now in hybrid formats. First of all I got the special edition of the new U2 ablum: no line on the horizon. I comes with a great book with pictures of Anton Corbijn, the music on CD and a link to a download of the movie Anton Corbijn made for this album. Unfortunately I cannot get this to work.... a real pity....
Secondly I bought Guy Ritchie's Rocknrolla. An action packed blue ray that looks and sounds very impressive indeed. You get a code to a digital download of the movie too. Unfortunately Windows only.... What a missed change...
So yes I added some great new media, but no, I am not able to get everything right in one go....

A very inspiring Veronica Vday. Over 150 people got together to discuss cooperation, innovation and creativity. Pioneers, young talent, entrepreneurs, radio makers etc discussed many themes and were entertained by very good music. The full set is here.

Last week the Swedish courts gave their conclusion to the Pirate Bay case. Yesterday we discussed the impact of the case on digital content and digital content with a group of experts at De Balie. The overall conclusion is that rights to digital content will remain a complex system for some years to come, but in the end the advantages of all the new technology will create more business and opportunities...

I am back from a great weekend @ Paaspop, the first festival of the season. Kinkfm was broadcasting live and shared the music and musicians with the rest of The Netherlands. We gave away green hats with our logo...

A very interesting evening indeed at IPAN with many experts on the challenges of digital content. Sports and music, creative commons and full rights... the need for a button comparable with 'buy now' for paying and licensing of video, music and other content would be a great invention. A week before Easter we have the procession where kids make their Easter Palm sticks and bring those to senior citizens. We the fantastic weather of today, it was one big party.

After the unconference of Kinnernet09, today we had a very interesting conference day at Com.vention the Internet and Media conference organised by TheMarker. One of the highlights was the session with Brad Templeton of Electronic Frontier Foundation and Joi Ito of Creative Commons. Two people who put their time and effort in helping to change the digital landscape.

A great set of days at the see of Galileo @kinnernet, the unconference where media and technology meet. The pictures will follow when I am back in Amsterdam. Tomorrow it is off to the interesting media and tech conference Comvention in Tel Aviv.

My little boy became 8 today. A big step... Not only did he get his own guitar, but we also went to see the premiere of the movie Monsters vs. Aliens, a fantastic 3-D feature film. You have to watch it with special glasses, but it was amazing.... in the next the decade the glasses will go an 3-D will be what 2-D has been sofar...

Always fascinating to meet up with Dutch digital pioneers, especially when they are running a new startup.

On the day the local stock exchange is dipping under the 200 (lowest level since 1995...) we are working on V-day on April 21 and new investments and initiatives. People say that in times of recession the best ideas and companies are built... we as pioneers are eager to prove that right...

Meeting up with Han Gerrits of Innovation Factory, chairman of the Advisory board of IPAN. Han is a very intelligent and connected innovator and pioneer. Always interesting to discuss matters with him. Secondly his office has a great view of Amsterdam...

At Veronica we want to give young talent the opportunity to develop their talents. We do this at V-Academy, Kinkfm, Veronica Story and the Medialab. The latter two have their interns day today.

Today the jury got together for the "Show your love for Amsterdam!" photo contest. Hundreds of pictures were sent in, at Flickr and Mobypicture. Difficult to choose the final ones...
