Following a great Liftconference, today the team, board and speakers explored Geneva. It not only proved to be a good way to get to know the city better, but also sharing more insights on what we gathered during the last couple of days.

Meeting the person most often called 'the father of the Internet' was a great experience. Vint Cerf had lots to share and his insights were mindbogling. A truly great final for Lift09.

"Where did the future go?" is the central theme of Liftconference 09 in Geneva. Lift is a series of events built around a community of doers and thinkers who get together in Europe and Asia to explore the social consequences of new technologies. Each conference is a chance to turn changes into opportunities by anticipating the major shifts ahead, and meeting the people who drive them. The full set of pictures will be appearing here.

The IPAN meeting tonight was all about journalists and how they perceive the current developments in the TIME sector on the one hand and to their own business and profession on the other hand. I had the pleasure of moderating the panel of very experienced and leading tech and media journalists and we were happy that so many had gone through the bad weather to join us. Like some of the new Dutch digital pioneers who have made it to the book tonight.

It was a great happening tonight at the first get together of the DCIF investment committee meeting at IDG. Not only did we take the decision to make some further investments in Dutch digital start ups, we also met with all our portfolio companies and had updates from them and drinks together. A special place had the founders of Wakoopa, since the company exists exactly two years today. Happy Birthday to them! It was also the first time since my freak scooter accident last week that I took some pictures for the Dutch digital pioneers book I am working on. Not that easy I found with a broken collarbone...
