The second day (for me) at the AIFW was great again. James Veenhoff drives a tight show with fantastic passion, a delight to see him operate...



The summer edition of the Amsterdam International Fashionweek (AIFW) is in full motion again. Tonight almost a 100 people involved in Picnic06 joined the catwalk show for the upcoming young designers for the Frans Molenaar award. A spectacular evening we thoroughly enjoyed and that created a good crossindustry vibe.

The preparations for PICNIC06 are in full swing, now from a new project location at the Herengracht in Amsterdam. The new location comes with a garden (view), very nice with the current summertemperatures...

A 'be fabulous' evening indeed. First the Engadget reader meet with Peter Rojas firing on all cylinders with the latest and greatest from the gadget and media front, followed by the opening of the shop of Percy Irausquin. Then finishing of a great dinner at Spring. This is how summer should be.....

Amsterdam is one of the top capitals in the world and wants to further enhance this position, by the topcity programme where the attractivenss of Amsterdam is even further stimulated. The crossmediaweek PICNIC06 is one of the elements to achieve the goals. Several hundred government, education, cultural and business people gathered together with the City to have a kick-off.

The next web was the name and theme of the conference organised by Boris and Patrick of Fleck.com. A great line up of speakers, interlaced with presentations of interesting European start ups, secured a good day of looking into web 2.0. Well done guys! I briefly met up with the man from vPod tv, but had to go before I could discuss Picnic06 with him......
