The ABNAMRO tennis tournament in Rotterdam had a difficult start due to withdrawl of key players. Maybe that was one of the reason that the final game was finished in 45 minutes. Some curious fun was created by a new format of 'streaker' in a tutu with "new balls please" written on his chest....

Roderick is spending the weekend with his niece. Right when the Digicomp I computer arrives! The plan was to build this machine together, now it will have to wait a little..... The concept of having an analogue computer up and running soon is appealing I must admit, great pay of by the way "watch me think" for the Digi-comp.

Succesfull entrepreneurs often work in tandem, creativity/technology on the one hand, business accumen on the otherhand. The Steves of Apple are an example. Podbrix is also a good example example as the company issues interesting wannahaves surrounding the Applesphere and the Steves, combingin creativity, technology and business. A nice examplefrom the catalogue is is the Wozwear t-shirt with a really old Apple microprocessor attached. Limited edition and I wonder whom I might see with such a shirt....

Sunday afternoon on a clear day at the end of the winter. Nice to go for a little shopping for the new collections in town and get the latest magazines. Blueblood the Dutch/Italian label has some nice specials that come in a great box.

Writers have found blogging, photographers have found phlogging and filmers have created vlogging. Where the bloggers and phloggers have created millions and millions of blogs and phlogs, the vlogcommunity is still small compared to the other two. But growing fast and having already created some great material. Space to watch and follow.

Often interesting things happen by sheer coincidence. Planning to meet the Dutch vloggers, we spotted the creative capital programme organised by VIP05 in De Balie in Amsterdam. Three good speakers Van Dalm, Reijndorp and Mayor Job Cohen shared with us why the creative industry and a creative capital are both important and how these concepts can be implemented best. A good discussion with the audience came in the package too.

Intermediate step was great and fast Japanese noodles. At a day full of broadband, creativity, appliances, technology and sofort, some good food is needed.

Seeing old acquintances again from the broadband world, both from The Netherlands and from Sweden. Together with the Stedenlink cities the Nordic connections was created, connecting The Netherlands with Sweden. An interesting day all-together.

Arriving home and getting a big warm heart on Valentine's day from those I love is great!

A day full of new media and the creative industry today in 070. Sharing the latest developments and discussing them with those that can influence them is rewarding and fun.

The panel was one short as the Director of the Concert had left. With six remaining panelists and lots of interaction the discussion touched upon many of the aspects of the art scene. Afterwards I had some interesting discussion around financing the creatives and the creative industries.

D66 is close to the creative industry and to share that closeness with all concerned, the local chapter of this Dutch political party organises debating sessions. Today especially art was the topic. Medy van der Laan came to share her thinking and activity with about 200 interested people from the various parts of the creative industry.

When you are almost five years old, tooth ache can be a new and unpleasent situation. Even playing with the lobsterman will not take the pain away. Fortunately we have a great dentist and after a short visit to him, Roderick is feeling better again.

A lobster has blue blood, therefore it has been chosen to represent the fashion label blueblood. As with other great examples in creative industries, the label combines quality with looks and interesting stories.

The old and new media waterhole in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid is Joffers. Increasingly popular for all day meetings and entertainment, with a great outdoors and indoors seating. Conviently located for me too...

Quality is an important element in multimedia. Therefore LCD projectors have to be carefully calibrated by experts, especially when the projector is of the highest prosumer quality such as this Sony. It is the little brother of the one we saw in Tokyo last year and it displays great HDTV quality, fully calibrated.

An interesting mix today at the IPAN event in Amsterdam. Next to a trade mission introduction to Ireland, specialists were around to introduce new technologies and web 2.0 applications. Espcially interesting given that we launched Blognomics 06 today....

A weekend at the seaside with Interimic. Nice to be with so many kids and friends enjoying swimming, looking at the races, eating and playing pool. Roderick and niece Gina had a great time!

A fruitful session at the Ministry of Economic Affairs where we discussed the segmentation for financing in the creative industries. The equity gap exists not only within the growth segment, but also in seed capital. One of the core conclusions of the session and important for DCIF and the entrepreneurs that we will be supporting.

The Dutch premiere of Nanny McPhee took place brought Emma and Colin to the Netherlands. For Roderick and Gabriel it was a fantastic afternoon, full of excitement.
