Kinkfm was present at the rocking ticket for Tibet festival in Amsterdam yesterday. Great to see the team operational in the field...

Father Braam leaves the Obrecht church as active pastor after 31 years. His big farewell was a great happening today. The full set can be found here on Flickr.

I just returned from some spectacular days in Israel at Kinnernet 2008. The geek and media festival and extravaganza that Yossi Vardi and his team put together. Drag racing with tools, music, industry sessions, ice cream and more.... The full set can be found at Flickr (all pictures have been washed with Truegrain for the analogue diary effect that I like so much...)

Today we had the kick off for the Euro Pace project in Amsterdam.

The best way to describe it is as a portable (like, totally portable) DJ mixing device with 120GB storage for your tunes. Using the Pacemaker, it’s possible to scratch and mix as on turntables.

We want to know its limits. Is it a toy? A professional alternative? Something in-between? Something else entirely?

We also want to know how it fits into the Music 2.0 world. How does this device encourage online community and sharing? What’s the connection between this and other mobile music devices?

Andrew Dubber and his team will be running it from the UK and we will do it from Hilversum and Amsterdam...

The set of pictures of the Amsterdam kick off can be found here at flickr...

Having followed the reportage workshop with Philip Blenkinsop and Gary Knight in Cambodia a couple of months ago, I decided to get a film Leica too. The workflow, aesthetics etc of film is just very different to digital, it creates analogue diaries.... Also the image output is very different.... Until I found Truegrain, a fantastic application that creates the film look and characteristics to digital shots. I still need to get used to getting it right, but it is a very snazzy application indeed....

First Tuesday of the month means Ipan meeting. Today the hot ticket 'crowdsourcing' was the theme. The specialists and evangelists in The Netherlands came to review this theme. Is it just hype or marketing or is it more? After a diverging discussion, all came together in seeing the positive sides of crowdsourcing, though some doubts remain too...From a DCIF perspective we believe this to be an interesting evening as we invested in CreativeCrowds of the companies in the panel today...
