PICNIC '07 will be geared around 'Play, feel and make' themes that stimulate the mind and the senses. Doing special things with traditional media or items is exactly what Tom Dixon has done for Lacoste by creating two polo shirts that have an eco and a techno layer to them. The techno one is very special given the steel threads....

Getting into the 'Where' game is exciting as it opens up a complete new world of tools, software and opportunities, such as this Suunto GPS wrist computer or 'watch' for people like me.... Even compatible with Google Earth..

While the kids were playing, the days were toying with their cameras. An impressive set of specialty cameras such as a rangefinder Hasselblad xpan and a Canon f1 lens.... toys for the boys...

Like in retail in events and in new web2.0 applications, location is everything. Therefore today we went out to NDSM in Amsterdam North to scout and scan, the full set can be found here.

When Krijn and I were preparing for Blognomics podcast #14 announcing Blognomics 07, we were in a bit of a hurry. Rather then taking the place mats of the table, we just left them thre and put our kit on them... We should have known better...Many remarks about the Blognomics place mats' have been made since....OK point taken!

We have decided that the one that creates the best report on Blognomics 07 will get a dinner served on those place mats!

My first board meeting today of Ipan, the Interactive Professionals Associatie Nederland. Despite the sign Boris is flagging here, it actually very OK....and I am happy to have joined the board.

Today Krijn and I finalised the programme for Blognomics 07. We have an interesting line up of speakers that share their vision on Media 2.0 on May 10 and we are preparing for some good interaction surrounding the event.
Next to finalising the programme we created podcast #14 that will be released tomorrow... So stay (i)tuned....

A cold but nice day to take the kids out to the country side. Lots of running, playing soccer, throwing sticks in the water and eating pancakes...

In the wonderful online world their are still things that work best on paper.....

I took my InterimIC partners to see The Girlfriend Experience too, as I was fascinated by the combination of art and technology. Thanks to the warm care of Willem Velthoven of Mediamatic we had an inspiring evening where good company, food en visual spectacle went along quite well....

Preparing for PICNIC07 we met at the Mayor's residence today to bring the partners together. Great to see the enthusiasm from the participants to make the next edition of PICNIC a success again. The full set can be found here.

It is a very good sign when people stick around when the conference has finished. Long after Lift was officially over, we were still talking. After that we had a good fox hunt to the restaurant. Laurent thanks a lot for a great week and for all your warmth and hospitality.
I will see many of the people again either at Kinnernet in March or Reboot in May....and definitely in Amsterdam during PICNIC '07....

The conference is nearing its end and it is great to see the divide gone and people getting together...

Tying Europe together on various levels is always complex given all the differences. I see a movement starting that works on this. Here at Lift I am meeting people from many countries willing to make and share, people like Pedro from the Shift conference in Portugal or the Sister from the Vatican..

After a great first conference day, the evening summed it all up: cheese fondue with lots of people capturing the event on all kinds of gadgets. The summit being the monopod with Podtech's Robert Scoble's Sony HD cam filming the musicians...being taped by Vpod's Rodrigo Sepulveda Schutz, myself and lots of others....

Having great women to introduce creativity and technology in society is a challenge. Lift brings the world of design together with the catholic church engaging the audience. Well done..

Laurent Haug kicked off Lift this morning, lots of people going online an blogging about it, so it will be easy to follow. Tag: lift07
I am really impressed by the guy in the red suit. He has a backpack with a water container in it, so he has fluid with him all the time... I'll try to get a link to the backpack so you can all try it at home....

Finishing off the first day: drinks and parties.... the full set here...

First day of lift with geo workshop in the morning, lunch with the geogroup and then off to Franck Muller watches with a great group of people including Robert Scoble and his wife. He had a snazzy Sony HD cam and as I was snapping away with the M8 he was filming it all.....We discussed him coming to PICNIC later this year too....

The morning at Lift is starting interesting and I am following a workshop on Openstreet maps where we went out and did it, even with a little rain...

Meeting with the speakers and organisers of Lift in Geneva is great. My friend Laurent Haug is the spider in the web and has to balance all balls in the air....No doubt he will succeed.

I got some nice reactions from viewers that are following my navigation experience. I will continue to post, and do not hesitate to leave comments with my posts. Many people are by the way impressed that the GPS receiver gets a signal even being indoors and in my coat.....

Photoset can be found here.

I am preparing for my trip to the Lift conference in Geneva tomorrow. A wonderful conference sharing the latest on technology in society.
To sure that my viewers can follow my, I am using Bliin's navigating experience social software. You will be able to track me via here.
I am also planning to get back in doing podcasts sourcing from the digital frontier and even got me a new Samson C01U USB condenser microphone, suggested by Thomas van de Weerd. If I make and post them, you will be able to find those podcasts here.
Lastly I of course plan to post on this blog and on my Flickr account.... In all technology in society :)

A nice weekend meeting up with good friends and having a creative workshop preparing for PICNIC '07.
