An interesting afternoon at PostCS building. I visited an intriguing conference about cross media gaming, an area where the right format still has to be found and a lot of experimentation will have to take place.
Following the conference I visited the guys of Wakoopa who are hammering away getting the product ready for launch.
Whilst meeting the Wakoopedians, Boris shared some sizing.... Maybe he will put up a quiz for what the size is all about at his blog...

Krijn and I are gearing up for Blognomics 07. The third edition of the event will show the pace of developments in (new) media. Whereas the first edition in 2005 was labeled 'the mechanics and economics of blogging', the second edition in 2006 'the power of new media' the coming edition will be 'Media 2.0 have arrived'.....
We will be bringing together a great crowd again from several angles and together with the guests we hope it will be very interesting and enjoyable again...
The date is May 10 and the event will take place during TINE 07 in the RAI in Amsterdam. More info will follow at the Blognomics website and podcasts...

It is not the famous 11 cities tour that was skated yesterday and today, but it was the first time for Roderick to be on skates. He loved it a lot on the ice track at Museumplein, the full set can be found here....

Twice a year the Amsterdam International Fashion Week takes place. Good friend James Veenhoff runs a tight ship where creativity can go all the way.
Next time around, in summer, the even will take place around the corner from where we live....

Patrick De Laive had an interesting trip into DLD (have read about the return trip yet, maybe that is even more special...), I had an interesting trip out. Due to heavy weather I was stuck in the plan for many hours, but returned home safe in the end....

DLD Burda's (new) media event was fabulous. Great speakers giving their views on numerous topics and new and old media mixing well. My congratulations to the team of Dr. Burda and especially to Marcel, Steffi, Rupert and Heiko. If you want to know what went on please have a look at the DLD site.

Next to the event there were many many opportunities to socialize with the participants. Where as big meetings always have the issue that true conversation is difficult, we found each other in lots of small gatherings in Munich, both at the conference as during breaks and parties.

Next to the serious matters we had great fun with Jean Renault ....

I have arrived today for the Digital Lifestyle Day conference of Burda Media in Munich, as part of building alliances for Amsterdam Cross Media Week.

It has been quite a while since I was in Munich at my BT days. First impression is that it is still a magnificent city indeed.

Armed with the M8 and the Noctilux I went to spend the evening with among others Laurent Haug of Lift in Geneva, Rodrigo Sepulveda Schutz of Vpod, the guys behind Amiando and many more. The pictures of DLD will appear here.

In a blazing storm Interimic's Diner Pensant had the seventh edition. Great speakers as our own Vincent Everts and Shari Swan gave their views on the world at large and innovation. It was great to see many good friends showing up and making this special evening possible...

It is great to see the love for photography and sharing of experiences is taking off so well. Meeting with the team from Bliin shows some of the excitement still to come in the convergence of technology, passion, friends and more....

A day well spent on the Dutch Creative industry and at the same time spotting Apple's iPhone in the wild. Willem Velthoven of Mediamatic is one of the European Beta-testers and very happy indeed with that opportunity.....

Roderick loves his grandparents and was happy he could share his Egyptian experience with her. But after a while the PS2 was just to close to be ignored....

Roderick and I are a little 'under the weather' as it is called, nothing serious but nice to stay at home and do some indoor stuff. So a good day of playing games and putting the Papyrus on the wall we bought in Egypt and had framed. I think we will bring lots more stuff home over the years as we will travel a lot with the little man....

Finalising PICNIC'06 and preparing for PICNIC'07 requires focus and fun, with Wouter that is a given combination. Could I only to get him to switch to Apple too....

Another day with the Noctilux, I am getting used to the lens a little more and it is amazing what you can get out of it in the dark.... It was said that the Noctilux sees more light then the human eye....

The dinner I had with my partners from InterimIC was an ideal opportunity as it was in quite a dark restaurant...

Today the mother of darkness arrived, the Noctilux superfast Leica lens...Shooting with the aperture full open is a real challenge, but what a dynamic range and what a bokeh....

Not much of a winter sofar and with all the colours out there, it sometimes feels like spring.

I always quite like the beginning of a New Year as all the people you meet you can wish happy New Year. So business meetings become so much nicer. Meeting with Bart, Ronnie, Esme and Luca is a treat by itself of course...

The Christmas break is always a good time to get things done I normally skip... So I got a Brick to store my pictures on, as the hard drive of my MacBook Pro was filling up rapidly with the new Leica M8.
My own M8 is back to Solms to be upgraded and Foto Nivo Schweizter's Pieter was very nice to give me an M8 on loan for the time being. This time a chrome version......very very nice too....

Nice Gina is staying with us and that creates a lot of laughter in the house.
