Returned from the World Newspaper Congress/World Editors Forum in Vienna. The media industry and especially the newspaper side, is going through an immense change. Very exciting editorial and technological developments combined with grim financial outlooks make this an interesting time for all involved. Media appear like the old aristocracy with noble ambitions and limited budgets to innovate where technology companies being the 'new money' that can experiment as much as they like in the move to digital.
