A great final day in San Francisco visiting worldclass organisations in the creative field: Meyersound and Expression College. The latter being very interesting given the focus on talent within Veronica and given that it was the college of late Eckart Wintzen, who whould have been here with us... the full set on San Francisco is here

Our San Francisco visit is packed with interesting visits and meetings with tech and media companies. Mostly with US companies and individuals, but also with Dutch entrepreneurs such as Arthur van Hoff, a true technological visionair that works and lives in the area...

The opportunity to meet up with great people when you are in their town hasn't lost any of the excitement, not even in these days of Web2.0. Among others we met with Cathy Brooks of Seesmic and Leweb and here dog. The SF set is here.

A very interesting session today with Jeff Howe, the creator of the crowdsourcing concept. Not only is he an exciting speaker, he also brings some great stories of the involvement of crowds in the creative process. The guys from CreativeCrowds (a DCIF investment) were very much part of this happening and kudos to them! the full set can be found here on flickr

Roderick got his first computer today, his own Apple iMac. As you can imagine, he is very happy with it....The iMac pay off: "Beauty. Brains. And now more brawn." is very appropriate to my little man....

Turning 40 is always a special happening, especially when you live in another country. Our good friend Camilla celebrated hers in Amsterdam with good friends in a nice programme. The full set is here.

The hottest button to button: social networking. There is a rocketboom in social networking developments and we are only looking at the first part of the boom. IPAN had the most important social networking actors in The Netherlands in the panel yesterday; such as Hyves, Netlog, Myspace, Sparkx and KREM. The full set of the evening that I moderated can be found here at Flickr. A well written report (in Dutch) by Peter Olsthoorn of the evening can be found here at Emerce.

Nothing special about this picture of a homeless drifter in Amsterdam at Spui. What is special though is the amount of statistics you can get at Flickr regarding your pictures. This picture, when I just posted it, had stats of '0' views. Quite logical of course given that I looked at the stats immediately after posting it...
Very interesting to have a look at the stats for my account rather then the last individual picture. Over 400,000 views and in April two days with over 500 views per day....Also interesting to see that most of the views come through Flickr for me (66%). In short the egocaster gets many tools to analyze what's going on with his content...
UPDATE: the stats can only be viewed from within Flickr and probably only by me.....therefore a little screenshot...

My analogue views of the world can be created through the digital route. It does not stop to amaze me.... This specific picture is one of a set of Queensday pictures I took (full set can be found here and not all pictures have gone through the analogue process as you can see). I used Truegrain again for this picture, selecting Kodak® Professional T-MAX P3200 as setting. Amazing....In the world of retrofut we are only at the beginning....

On April 30 we celebrate Koninginnedag or Queensday in The Netherlands, the birthday of our Queen (or effectively the former Queen's birthday). Thousands and thousands of people come to the event in Amsterdam and to the museum square. It was a special Queensday for me this year... The full set can be found here on Flickr.
